Ward Wins Fourth Straight MAC High Jump Title

Ashlee Ward won the high jump to lead the Misericordia University women's track & field on the second day of the MAC Championships, Friday at Widener.Ward, who jumped 1.72m to win the event for the fourth consecutive year, was joined on the podium by three teammates.Anna Nole, Lindsey Stitzer and Shaye Smith finished fifth through seventh, respectively.Sarah Ostroski finished second in the triple jump (10.09m) and Georgia Cleary was eighth in the heptathlon 800m/3rd; long jump/8th; javelin/11th).Hilari Norris finished first in the preliminaries of the 100m hurdles (14.73) while Katie Steffney was eighth (16.79).Norris teamed with Sarah Downer, Kelsey O'Donnell and Stacey Perrins to qualify first in the 4x100m relay (49.06).Amy Viti (25.77) and Perrins (25.78) finished 1-2 in the 200m prelims and Perrins qualified second at 100m (12.61).Viti (59.8) was second in the 400m preliminaries while Mary Fairchild (1:00.15) was fifth.  Bianca Bolton (2:21.8) qualified second at 800m and teamed with Bethany Killmon, Jill Eberly and Jackie Bamberski to qualify third in the 4x800m relay (9:34.42).Misericordia is currently fifth in the team standings with 35 points.  Elizabethtown leads the 10-team field with 68 points heading into Saturday's final day of competition.
